Century Toys
A.K.A Century Thoroughbred Toys
Manufactured by Century Boat Company
Manistee, Michigan
1952-estimated 1953

On March 1952, Century Boat Company, known for their quality line of inboard and outboard luxury boats, announced they would be producing a new line of colorful action toys. Their toys were manufactured from sturdy woods, and designed to avoid sharp angles and projections. They also advertised that their toys would be made of fast, non-fading and non-toxic paints. We were able to locate another article stating they are reducing the prices of their toys. We were unable to find any records after that.

Fun Fact: In 1952 there were also a couple of other toys being introduced to children – Mr. Potato Head, Pez dispensers and Matchbox cars. Now that’s competition.
